Carlos Vega

Carlos Vega was born in 1964, and graduated in Chemistry at Complutense University in Madrid in 1987. He obtained his PhD in 1991 under the supervision of Prof. S.Lago. He visited several labs during his PhD including the groups of D.Frenkel, J.Fischer, T. Boublik, and K.Gubbins. He obtained in 1991 a Fulbright Postdoctoral fellowship to work under the supervision of P.A.Monson in the University of Massachusetts. In 1993 he returned to Spain, obtaining a permanent position in 1995. In 2005 he was promoted to Full Professor. 

He has published around 190 papers, and his h index is 43 (Research ID:C-5455-2009). He is currently Associate Editor of the Journal of Chemical Physics and he is a member of the Editorial Board of Molecular Physics. His research involves the statistical mechanics of fluids, with special interest in computer simulations of water and development of water models.
